Greek Odyssey | By Land and Sea

From May 12–22, 2027, explore the rich history, breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cultures of Greece and Turkey with Dr. Stephen Maiullo on a journey that combines mainland discoveries with a four-night Aegean cruise.

Highlights include ancient Mycenae, legendary Corinth, the world-famous Acropolis, fascinating Ephesus, the stunning Temple of Poseidon, charming Nauplion, glamorous Mykonos, historic Rhodes, captivating Crete, iconic Santorini and the sacred island of Patmos.

This trip begins in Athens before heading to the Peloponnese to discover the ancient archaeological site of Mycenae, one of Greece’s most important historical treasures. Continue to the picturesque seaside town of Nafplio, Greece’s first capital, where you'll settle into your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner to begin your adventure.

Spend the next day discovering the charm of Nafplio with a boat excursion to the iconic Bourtzi Castle and a scenic ride on the town’s mini train. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore the historic old town, browse local shops or relax at a waterfront café before an independent dinner.

NemeaNext, journey through the renowned Nemea wine region with a guided winery tour and tasting, then explore the ancient ruins of Corinth and admire the engineering marvel of the Corinth Canal. Later, arrive in Athens, where you'll check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner.

AcropolisSpend a full day exploring Athens’ rich history, beginning with the iconic Acropolis and its magnificent Parthenon, Erechtheion and other classical monuments. Continue to the ancient Agora and the acclaimed Acropolis Museum, while also viewing landmarks such as the Panathenaic Stadium before enjoying a free afternoon and evening to explore the city at your own pace.

Monastery of St. JohnEmbark on the Celestyal Discovery and cruise to the enchanting island of Mykonos, where you’ll have time to explore independently. Continue to Kusadasi, Turkey, for a visit to the ancient city of Ephesus, discovering remarkable sites including the Library of Celsus, Temple of Artemis and grand amphitheater. Sail onward to Patmos, where a guided tour visits the historic Monastery of St. John and the sacred Grotto of the Apocalypse, known as the place where John received his vision and wrote the Book of Revelation.

RhodesExplore the historic island of Rhodes, with its medieval Old Town, impressive fortifications and connections to the legendary Colossus of Rhodes. Continue to Crete, birthplace of the Minoan civilization, with time to explore Heraklion before sailing onward to breathtaking Santorini. Discover Santorini’s dramatic volcanic landscape, iconic whitewashed villages and stunning cliffs before returning to the mainland.

Temple of PoseidonAfter disembarking in Lavrion, enjoy a scenic coastal drive to Cape Sounion, where you’ll visit the iconic Temple of Poseidon, perched dramatically above the Aegean Sea. Continue to Athens for an afternoon at leisure, with time to explore the city, shop or revisit favorite sights before gathering for a farewell dinner celebrating the unforgettable experiences of your Greek journey.
