The Hope College Orchestra will present
its first concert of the 2000-01 season on Friday, Oct. 6,
at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Under the direction of Richard Piippo, the evening
will feature works of Offenbach, Chausson, Ravel and
Hovhaness. The performance will open with the overture to
Offenbach's "Orpheus in the Underworld," and will also
feature violinist Mihai Craioveanu of the Hope music faculty
performing "Poeme" by Chausson and "Tzigane" by Ravel.
Concluding the program will be "Symphony No. 2: Mysterious
Mountain," by Alan Hovhaness.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 12th Street
and College Avenue on the campus of Hope College.
