The second music faculty recital of the
fall season will be presented at Hope College Sunday, Oct.
22, at 4 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The recital will feature the return of The Anchor

Piippo, and pianist Joan Conway. The trio will be
performing Haydn's Trio in C Major, Hob. XV/27.
Flutist Julie Sooy and bassoonist Steven Ward will
combine their talents on Heitor Villa-Lobos' Bachianas
Brasileiras No. 6.
Brahms' Zigeunerlieder, Op. 103, "Gypsy Songs,"
will be sung by mezzo-soprano Elizabeth LaGrande,
accompanied by pianist Sheryl Lott Richardson.
The final piece of the afternoon will be Bach's
Sonata, from "The Musical Offering," BWV 1079. Craioveanu
and Piippo will be joined by harpsichordist Huw Lewis and
flutist Rebecca Van De Walker. Each of the fall faculty
recitals are offering a work by Bach in honor of the 250th
anniversary of his death.
The next faculty recital program will occur on
Sunday, Nov. 12, at 4 p.m., also in Wichers Auditorium.
