Never afraid of a challenge, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre veteran Susan Ericksen is the lone cast member in Fully Committed, a comedy by Becky Mode. The show opens June 28 at 8 p.m. in Snow Auditorium, known as HSRT's "second stage."

Ericksen plays a young actor who hopes to get a break, but in the meantime works as a reservation-taker at a posh restaurant. In what may be the worst job in a snooty Manhattan eatery, she works out of a rat-infested mess of a basement to field a daily barrage of pleading, snobbish, threatening and clueless phone requests for tables from the not-so-humble and lowly. In between, she gets calls from her dad, her agent, and a friend gloating about a new acting job.

The whirlwind comedy is under the direction of Obie-award winner, Thomas Bullard, who worked with just two actors in HSRT's hit comedy, The Mystery of Irma Vep. Bullard is in his eleventh year with HSRT, having also directed such successes as To Kill A Mockingbird, Man of La Mancha, and Slyvia.

Ericksen, an Equity Guest Artist, is celebrating her fifteenth year with HSRT, where she has either acted in or directed a number of productions. After focusing on directing the past two years, Fully Committed is her first appearance on the HSRT stage since 1999. Ericksen also has extensive experience throughout the country, and a long association with The Cleveland Play House.

Fully Committed runs June 28, 29, July 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, and 18. While at the box office, be sure to reserve tickets for the other great HSRT mainstage shows, including the dancing excitement of Footloose, the classic farce, Charley's Aunt, the gothic horror story, The Woman In Black, and the delightful family musical, Honk. We enjoy a return to the movies in the cabaret show, Hooray For Hollywood, and the Children's Performance Troupe is presenting Judith Viorst's Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and the Grimm's brothers' tale, The Bremen Town Musicians.

Snow Auditorium is located on the Hope College campus, on the former 12th Street between Columbia and College Avenues. It is on the west side of the Nykerk Hall of Music.
