The Collegium Musicum groups at Hope College will present a concert of early music on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 4:30 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The concert will feature the Instrumental Collegium Musicum, under the direction of John Hoyer, and the Vocal Collegium Musicum, directed by Brad Richmond.

The two musical groups and a few dancers will team up to present the featured work, "Libre Vermell" (Pilgrim Songs of Montserrat), a collection of Spanish songs from the 14th century.

The concert will also include instrumental and choral works by a variety of 16th century composers. One of the pieces, Clemment Jannequin's "Song of the Birds," challenges the singers to musically depict a wide variety of bird sounds while ushering in the arrival of spring.

St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church is located on 13th Street at Maple Avenue.
