Members of the music faculty at Hope College will present a wide range of music during their second faculty recital of the winter, on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 3 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Cellist Richard Piippo and pianist Charles Aschbrenner will perform Dmitri Shostakovich's "Sonata in D minor, Op. 40" to open the performance.
Mezzo-soprano Elizabeth LaGrande, with pianist Roberta Kraft, will sing Antonin Dvorak's "Zigeunerlieder (Gypsy Songs) Op. 55."
Kraft will then join alto saxophonist Ryan Janus and French horn player Thom Working for Paul Basler's "Vocalise" and "Waltz."
Soprano Linda Dykstra will perform Madeleine Dring's "My true love hath my heart," "The Enchantment" and "Echoes." She will be accompanied by pianist Jennifer Wolfe.
The final piece will be "Sonata for Trumpet and Piano," by Kent Kennan, featuring pianist Deborah Gross, and Charley Lea, trumpet.
Nykerk Hall of Music is located on the former 12th Street between College and Columbia avenues.
