The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and the Eastman Kodak Co. have named Hope senior Amanda Kerkstra a 2003 NCAA Division III Kodak All-American.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and the Eastman Kodak Co. have named Hope senior Amanda Kerkstra a 2003 NCAA Division III Kodak All-American.
WBCA member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions voted on the team.
Kerkstra led the Flying Dutch to a 31-1 record this season capturing the championship of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athltic Association (MIAA) for a fourth consecutive year. Kerkstra ended her career as Hope's all-time leading scorer.
Joining Kerkstra as a Kodak All-American are Kendra Anderson of Hardin-Simmons, Tex., Amy Campion of Salisbury, N.J., Kristi Channing of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Allison Coleman of Eastern Connecticut State, Amy Meggers of Buena Vista, Iowa, Erika Smith of Rochester, N.Y., Sarah Walsh of Colby, Me., Megan Woodruff Wilmington, Ohio, and Christina Vouriotis of Messiah, Pa.

Kodak has recognized the accomplishments of young athletes and the positive recognition they bring to their school by displaying their talents on the basketball flor for the past 29 years. Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game as an amateur sport for women and girls.
