The department of French will commemorate "Francophone Awareness Week," running Wednesday-Tuesday, Nov. 5-11, with two films and a dinner featuring French cuisine. The event coincides with National French Week.
The film "Congo/Belgium: 'La Vie est Belle'" will be presented on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in room 201 of Graves Hall. There will be an extra screening on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Granberg Room in the Van Wylen Library. The public is invited, and admission is free.
"A Taste of French Cuisine" will be featured at the Phelps Hall dining hall during dinner on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The menu includes classic French cuisine arranged and prepared by Hope's Chef Tom Hoover (additional information may be obtained on the Hope College Dining Services Web site). Admission is free for students with a Hope meal plan. Admission is $8.75 for all others.
The film "Algeria/France: 'Living in Paradise" will be presented on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m. in room 201 of Graves Hall. There will be an extra screening on Monday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Granberg Room in the Van Wylen Library. The public is invited, and admission is free.
