Both Hope College soccer teams have been honored for academic excellence during the 2002-03 school year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
The men's and women's soccer team have been presented the association's Team Academic Award.
Hope is one of only 48 collegiate soccer programs in the nation to have both the men's and women's team honored. Hope is the only MIAA member college to receive the dual honors. Overall there were 71 men's teams and 265 women's teams honored.
The women's team maintained a 3.43 grade point average on a four point scale while the men's team had a cumulative 3.20 GPA. A minimum 3.0 grade point cumulative team average was required to receive the honor.
The awards will be presented at the annual convention of the association on Jan. 15 in Charlotte, N.C.
