Awards for outstanding performance during the cross country season have been announced by coach Mark Northuis.

Both Hope teams finished third in their respective MIAA standings and were among the top ten teams at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional.

Honored as the most valuable runners were senior Peter Derby of Cadillac, Mich. (Cadillac HS) and junior Tina Pike of Rochester, Minn. (Century HS).

Recognized as the most improved runners were sophomore Kyle Barnes of Torch Lake, Mich. (Central Lake HS) and junior Julie King of Jenison, Mich. (Jenison HS).

Chosen the best newcomers to the program were freshmen Ryan TerLouw of Pella, Iowa (Pella HS) and Allison Mejeur of St. Joseph, Mich. (St. Joseph HS).
