Students from Hope College's Opera Workshop will perform a concert on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.

Students from Hope College's Opera Workshop will perform a concert on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The performance includes scenes from the operatic plays of "Der freischutz," by Carl Maria von Weber; "Little Red Riding Hood," by Seymour Barab; "Faust," by Charles Gounod; and "Hansel and Gretel," by Engelbert Humperdinck.

The performers are sophomore Sarah Blankenship of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; freshman Chelsea Kramer of Traverse City; senior Carmen Rabbit of Muskegon; freshman Libby Skaff of Flint; sophomore Kendra Stock of St. Charles, Ill.; junior Lisa Warmus of Rochester, N.Y.; and senior Abby Whitenight of Ludington.

Joseph Turbessi, a junior from Nunica, is the pianist, and Whitenight is the choreographer of the program. The program and the Opera Workshop are directed by Dr. Margaret Kennedy-Dygas, professor of music.

Nykerk Hall of Music is located on the former 12th Street between College and Columbia avenues.
