Hope Summer Repertory Theatre opens its second stage in Snow Auditorium with the comedy "Rounding Third" opening Wednesday, July 21 at 8 p.m.

Featuring two HSRT comedy favorites, James Saba and Dana Snyder back together the originally scheduled shows sold out quickly. Due to demand HSRT has added additional discounted "baseball bleacher" seats to each show and added performances for August 16, 17, and 18.

"Rounding Third" deals with the grit, the pressure, and the stakes of coaching baseball. Or at least Little League baseball. When a "win-at-all-costs" father shares the coaching bench with a "lets-just-have-fun" father who knows little about the game there are plenty of errors.

In the hands of Saba and Snyder, who last combined forces in "The Mystery of Irma Vep," these baseball errors may be funniest to ever hit the diamond in this humorous and heartfelt play.

Hope Theatre chair Daina Robins takes on the task of directing these two talented actors, while Steve Johnson is the scenic designer for the intimate setting of Snow Auditorium.

This comedy will be performed on July 21, 22, 26, 27, 31, August 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, and the newly added shows on August 16, 17, and 18.

Snow Auditorium is on the west side of the Nykerk Hall of Music, located on the former 12th Street between College and Columbia avenues.

While at the box office, be sure to reserve tickets for the other great HSRT mainstage shows, including the musical "Bye Bye Birdie," the Tony-award winning comedy, "Art," George Bernard Shaw's comedy "Arms and the Man" and HSRT's own creation "G.I. Jive." Holland's Park Theatre is home to HSRT's popular cabaret offering, "All Night Diner." The Children's Performance Troupe is presenting Jon Scieszka's "The Stinky Cheese Man" and Louis Sachar's "Sideways Stories from Wayside School."

The ticket office is located in the DeWitt Center, on the Hope College campus, at the corner of 12th Street and Columbia Avenue in Holland. Prices range from $8-$25 for musicals, and $8-$18 for plays. The "baseball bleacher" seats for "Rounding Third" are just $10. Ticket office hours are 10 a.m-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and one hour before all showtimes. Tickets may also be purchased by calling 616-395-7890.
