A total of 23 high school cheerleading squads from 16 high schools participated in the 35th annual Hope College Cheerleading Clinic and Competition, held on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Holland High School.

More than 200 cheerleaders attended. They received instruction from members of the Hope College cheerleading squad and then participated in a competition.

The competition named winners at the junior varsity and varsity C-D and A-B levels. Spirit awards were also presented at the junior varsity and varsity level.

The squads received awards as follows:

 

Junior Varsity C-D:

1st Place: Detroit Urban Lutheran

2nd Place: Lake City

3rd Place: Lawrence

 

Junior Varsity A-B:

1st Place: Holland

2nd Place: Newaygo

 

Varsity C-D:

1st Place: Bridgman

2nd Place: Parchment

3rd Place: Faith

4th Place: Lake City

5th Place: Lawrence

 

Varsity A-B:

1st Place: Holland

2nd Place: Mason County Central

3rd Place: Dundee
