Two seniors will lead the Hope College women’s cross country team this fall as captains: Katherine Hauge of Blaine, Minnesota (Minnehah Academy) and Emily Wrozek of Clarklake, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS).

Hauge is an exercise science major who is minoring in psychology.

Wrozek is a nursing major.

Hope coach Mark Northuis said that Hauge and Wrozek, in addition to their running experiences, bring a breadth of leadership skills to their roles as captains.

“I look forward to their helping to pass on the strong tradition of excellence that the Hope College Cross Country program has attained,” Northuis said. “They are a gifted group of scholar-athletes.”

Hope opens the 2014 season on August 30 when it hosts the 34th Vanderbilt Invitational at Ridge Point Church.
