T.S. SpivetT.S. Spivet

The Hope College Knickerbocker Theatre will present a special showing of the adventure-drama film “The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet” on Monday-Wednesday, Feb. 15-17, and Saturday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m.

Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the film centers on T.S. Spivet (Kyle Catlett), a 10-year-old prodigy with a passion for maps.  He lives on a ranch in Montana with his scientist mother (Helena Bonham Carter) and his cowboy father (Callum Keith Rennie), his twin brother and a sister.  One day, T.S. receives a call from the Smithsonian Institution, telling him that he is the winner of the prestigious Baird prize for an invention of his. Invited to a reception in his honor, he sets out on a trip to reach Washington, D.C., without telling anyone.

The film is rated PG.

Tickets are $7 for regular admission and $6 for senior citizens, Hope College faculty and children.  Tickets will be sold at the door but are also available in advance at the Events and Conferences Office located downtown in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E.
