Gallant will perform through the Hope College Concert Series on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 8:30 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland.

The “Weight in Gold” singer will perform as part of his North American tour this fall following his debut album “Ology.” Named the “#1 moment of Coachella” by Billboard, the 23-year-old will bring his latest hits, including “Talking to Myself” and “Bourbon,” to the performance.

“Ology” was released through Mind of a Genius Records and debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes U.S. R&B and Soul Charts in April. The album was also named one of The 25 Best Albums of 2016 (so far) by “Entertainment Weekly” and praised by Pitchfork for “emulating ’80s and ’90s R&B without taking too much from those eras.”

Gallant has also turned the heads of major artists, including Hope College alumnus Sufjan Stevens, who served as the first guest in the singer’s “In the Room” series—a Spotify original programming that will continue to see him reinvent songs with artists who inspire him.

Gallant will be supported by the up-and-coming soul singer Eryn Allen Kane. Kane is known for her “Baltimore” collaboration with Prince and work with Chicago hip-hop stars, including Chance the Rapper and Saba. She has also released a two-part EP series, “Aviary.”

Advance tickets for the concert are $10 for Hope students, $20 for members of the college’s faculty and staff, and $25 for the community.  Any remaining tickets will be $30 at the door.

Tickets are available at the ticket office in the Events and Conferences Office located downtown in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E. Eighth St.).  The office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be called at (616) 395-7890. Tickets are also available online.

The Knickerbocker Theatre is located at 86 E. Eighth St. between College and Columbia avenues.
