Though by the calendar it’s the heart of winter, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre (HSRT) at Hope College has its eyes set on June and the start of its 47th season.

The company will be presenting five productions for audiences of all ages this summer, including three Tony Award winners and nominees, an innovative and thrilling retelling of an epic Greek poem, and the world premiere of a musical adaptation of a locally written children’s book.  The productions are “The Wiz,’” “The Odd Couple,” “An Iliad,” “Godspell” and “The Dragon Pack Snack Attack.”

The season will begin during the week of June 11 and continue through Aug. 10.

Early-bird season tickets are currently available at the 2017 rate, and may be purchased through the ticket office in the Events and Conferences Office located downtown in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E. Eighth St.). The office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be called at (616) 395-7890.

In addition to attending in the audience, West Michigan residents have the opportunity to perform in the productions.  Local auditions for the season will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, on the campus of Hope College.  Those interested in auditioning should visit HSRT’s website to register for an audition time.
