The Hope College Faculty and Student Collaborative Ensemble will perform on Monday, Sept. 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the John and Dede Howard Recital Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

Directed by Gabe Southard, the ensemble will play “L’Histoire Du Solet,” by Igor Stravinksky, and “The Devil’s Tale,” by Jim Stevenson.

The Faculty and Student Collaborative Ensemble provides Hope students the opportunity to perform professional repertoire while working side-by-side with their studio teachers. It also enables faculty to teach students in a working environment while providing audiences with expert-level performances.  The ensemble was established in 2015.

In addition to Southard, the faculty participants will be Mihai Craioveanu, violin; Michael Hovnanian, string bass; Joel Schekman, clarinet; Hannah Reilly, bassoon; Jonathan Ruffer, trumpet; Adam Graham, trombone; Christopher Fashun, percussion; and Mark Lopez, percussion.  The student participants will be Mia VanErp, Pano Stavropoulos and Emma Clark in speaking roles portraying the narrator, the soldier and the devil; and Vivien Mickels dancing as the princess.

The Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts is located at 221 Columbia Ave., between Ninth and 10th streets.
