Hope College guard Jason Beckman has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The senior from Shelby, Michigan (Shelby HS) is receiving the honor for the fourth
time this season and the ninth time in his playing career.
Beckman averaged 22.0 points and 3.3 assists per game to help the Flying Dutchmen
go 3-0 last week and move into a third-place tie in the MIAA standings.
Against Alma College on Saturday, Beckman scored a season-high 38 points during a
94-92 victory. It was the fourth most point scored at DeVos Fieldhouse by a Hope player.
At Adrian College on Wednesday, Beckman netted 23 points during a 71-62 victory. He
scored 20 points in the second half alone.
Beckman also recorded four assists against both Adrian and Kalamazoo College.
