Hope College’s Josh Izenbart has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

The senior from Glenwood, Illinois (Homewood-Flossmoor HS) claims the indoor honor for the first time in his career. He has been an MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week twice.

Last weekend, Izenbart finished runner-up out of a field of 19 competitors at the Saginaw Valley State University Jet Pizza Invitational. He totaled 4,429 points over seven events. The field featured athletes from all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA.

Izenbart’s highlights included recording the top high jump among heptathletes at 1.92 meters (6 feet, 3 ½).

In the shot put, he posted the second-longest heave at 11.97 meters (39-3 ¼).

In the 60-meter hurdles, Izenbart clocked the third-fastest time at 8.77 points.
