Six student-athletes from the nationally ranked Hope College women’s tennis team have received Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2019-20 school year: Amanda Bandrowski, Bailey Chorney, Brigid DeVries, Claire Hallock, Leah Newhof and Delanie Riebschleger.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must meet the following requirements:

  • have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
  • be listed on the institutional eligibility form

Bandrowski, who graduated, is from Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis HS) and majored in exercise science. She was named an ITA All-American and the ITA Central Region Senior Women’s Tennis Player of the Year as a senior. 

Hallock, who graduated, is from Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center) and majored in chemical engineering. She earned ITA All-America honors for the second time during her senior and junior seasons.

Chorney is a junior from Waunakee, Wisconsin (Waunakee) who is majoring in business and Spanish.

DeVries is a junior from Bradenberg, Kentucky (Meade County) and a business major.

Newhof is a junior from Caledonia, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian) who is majoring in exercise science.

Riebschleger is a freshman from Rockford, Michigan (Rockford).
