Councils

For Greek students, by Greek students.

One of the many unique features of Greek Life is having the opportunity to lead. Each spring semester, every organization elects one new member to be a class representative for one of the two councils: the Panhellenic Council and the Interfraternity Council.

These two councils co-exist to promote a positive Greek atmosphere on campus. Weekly meetings are held throughout each semester to discuss different ways in which Greeks can be involved on and off campus.

Panhellenic Council

The Panhellenic Council is the governing board of sororities and is made up of 3 representatives from each sorority on campus, one for each class year.

The purpose of this organization is to initiate and correlate such action as is required to foster harmonious and efficient inter-sorority relationships, and to further engender a cooperative spirit between the sororities and the college communities. In real life, this means they act as a council of Greek women from all organizations to lead and promote Greek Life in ways such as decision-making, fundraising and leadership building, as well as to coordinate exciting events such as service projects and Recruitment.

The Panhellenic Council is dedicated to Greek Life at Hope College and is working toward success in all Greek organizations.

Interfraternity Council

The Interfraternity Council is the governing board of fraternities and is made up of 3 representatives from each fraternity on campus, one for each class year.

The purpose of this organization is to integrate the values and goals of fraternity life with the mission of the college, in a manner which enhances both. IFC works to initiate and correlate such action as is required to foster harmonious and efficient inter-fraternity relationships, and to further engender a cooperative spirit between the fraternities and the college community.

The Interfraternity Council is dedicated to Greek Life at Hope College and is working toward success in all Greek organizations.
