Elizabeth Council
Director of Digital CommunicationsElizabeth serves as the director of digital communications in the Office of Public Affairs and Marketing. She previously held the role of digital strategist for seven years at Hope.
Her background is in leading successful multichannel communication and marketing campaigns across the web, social media and traditional media placement. At Hope, Elizabeth manages the college’s web communications team, its institutional social media accounts, digital advertising, and serves as a liason and consultant to campus partners on all things digital communications.
Elizabeth started her career in 2002 as a newspaper reporter at the state capitol covering the State of Michigan government for various news organizations. She later gained extensive experience in marketing and advertising while working as an agency account manager, as an owner of multiple small businesses, and as a volunteer in the non-profit world, including higher education. Elizabeth has served on the board of Pioneer Resources and TEDxMuskegon steering committee.

Outside the college
Elizabeth's hobbies include traveling throughout northern Michigan with her family, racing a sailboat on Muskegon Lake with friends, hunting for treasures at estate sales, and cooking and baking for her friends and family. She enjoys talking about music and current events, and is a big fan of Short's Brewing Co.
Elizabeth is an active volunteer in the Muskegon area with various organizations including the Mona Shores school district and Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Norton Shores.
