Four members of the Hope College faculty are exhibiting or performing at the Autonomous University of Queretaro in Mexico this month.

          Del Michel of the art faculty has an exhibition of
  his work on display at the university from Saturday, Nov.
  20, through Wednesday, Dec. 1.  Music faculty members Joan
  Conway, who is a pianist, and violinists Deborah Craioveanu
  and Mihai Craioveanu among other appearances will perform
  together on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 25.
          All four faculty members are also scheduled to
  speak to classes and meet with students during their time in
  Mexico, and the four professors will have Thanksgiving
  dinner with the 10 Hope students who are studying at the
  university during the current, fall semester.  In addition,
  the professors will be guests at educational and cultural
  events being arranged by the office of the city of
  Queretaro's President, Francisco Garrido Patron.
          Hope and the Autonomous University of Queretaro
  established a formal agreement in 1996 that has since led to
  a number of student and faculty exchanges.  The gallery of
  the De Pree Art Center featured an exhibition of abstract
  paintings by Jordi Boldo of the university's faculty from
  September 1 through October 8.  Hope hosted the university's
  Wildcats football team on Saturday, Sept. 4.
          The city of Holland and the university's hometown
  of Santiago de Queretaro have maintained a sister-city
  relationship since 1995.
          Conway is a professor of music, and has been a
  member of the Hope faculty since 1969.  Deborah Craioveanu
  is a part-time lecturer in music, and joined the Hope
  faculty in 1992.  Mihai Craioveanu is an associate professor
  of music, and also joined the Hope faculty in 1992.  Michel
  is a professor of art, and has been a member of the Hope
  faculty since 1964.
