The winners of the Hope College
Concerto/Aria competition will perform on Friday, Jan. 26,
at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The college's annual Concerto/Aria concert

being featured.

The concert will open with the overture to
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute," performed
by the Orchestra.

Hamilton, will perform the first movement of the Gordon
Jacob trombone concerto. Following will be sophomore
violinist Joe Deller of Dearborn performing the fifth
movement of the "Symphonie Espagnole" of Edouard Lalo. Nick
Toben, a sophomore cellist from Troy, performs the third
movement of Haydn's "Cello Concerto in C." Closing the
first half of the concert will be organist Krista Shinew, a
senior from Somerset, Pa., performing Guilmant's "Symphony
No. 1" for organ and orchestra.

The second half begins with junior violinist
Jennifer Walvoord of Holland performing the first movement
of Tchaikovsky's "Violin Concerto in D." Continuing, junior
pianist Piper Spratt of Kalamazoo will be performing the
first movement of Macdowell's "Piano Concerto in d minor."
Greg Frens, a senior bass-baritone from Grand Rapids,
follows, singing the aria "Madamina! il catalogo" from the
opera "Don Giovanni." To close the program, freshman
violinist Titus Munteanu of Brasov, Romania, will be
performing the "Ziguenerweisen" of Sarasate.
