A Hope College student has a unique
opportunity to participate in a well-known annual Washington
event.

Matthew Bondy, a sophomore from Petoskey, will be
attending the National Prayer Breakfast at the Hilton in
Washington, D.C., on Thursday, Feb. 1. The breakfasts are
attended by national and international leaders; those
present this year are expected to include President George
W. Bush.

Bondy will be attending the event with his father
and stepmother. Considering a career in international
relations, he views the breakfast as a valuable learning
experience.

"I'm really looking forward to it," he said. "I'm
definitely looking forward to talking to some world leaders
if I get a chance."

This will be Bondy's first time at the breakfast,
but his fourth trip to the nation's capital. The family
will be remaining in Washington a couple extra days to enjoy
the city's other offerings as well.
