The Hope College Gospel Choir will present its annual spring concert on Saturday-Sunday, April 13-14, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

Tickets are $5 each, and may be purchased at the college's Campus Ministries Office, located at 129 E. 10th Street, during weekday office hours. Any remaining tickets will also be available at the door.

The Hope College Gospel Choir started in 1970 as an extension of the Black Student Coalition. In 1992, Vanessa Allen and Darnisha Taylor become co-directors and formally organized the choir.

Darnisha Taylor served as director until the spring of 2001. In the fall of 2001, Christopher J. Kingdom-Grier accepted the position of Director. He holds a bachelor of arts in visual and performing arts, with a concentration in vocal music, and a master of education in educational leadership with a concentration in higher education administration. He has several years' experience providing leadership to large organized choirs.

The Hope College Gospel Choir's mission is to glorify God through worship. The choir's members come from different backgrounds, cultures and denominational experiences to join together to worship using dynamic mediums such as Black Gospel and Contemporary Christian music.
