Awards for outstanding performance in cross country this past fall and captains of the 2005 teams have been announced by coach Mark Northuis.

Senior Tina Pike of Rochester, Minn. and junior Tyson Warner of Portage, Mich. (Portage Northern HS) have been chosen the teams' most valuable runners while senior Katrina Alvesteffer of Whitehall, Mich. (Whitehall HS) and sophomore Aaron Kenemer of Zeeland, Mich. (Zeeland HS) were honored as the most improved runners.

Recognized as the best newcomers were freshman Anne Hoekstra of Kalamazoo, Mich. (Loy Norrix HS), freshman Colin Lawrence of Sterling, N.Y. (Red Creek HS), and junior Kyle Williams of Plainwell, Mich. (Delton-Kellogg HS).

Selected co-captains of the 2005 men's team were Tyson Warner and Kyle Williams while tri-captains of the women's team will be Monique Hoyle of Delton, Mich. (Delton-Kellogg HS), Alison Mejeur of St. Joseph, Mich. (St. Joseph HS), and Leslie Tableman of Lansing, Mich. (Eastern HS).
