Hope College staff members were recognized for service during the college's 27th annual service award celebration, held in conjunction with a luncheon at the college's Haworth Inn and Conference Center on Friday, Feb. 2.

 Hope College staff members were recognized for service during the college's 27th annual service award celebration, held in conjunction with a luncheon at the college's Haworth Inn and Conference Center on Friday, Feb. 2.

Honored as a retiree was Roger Veldhof of the college's physical plant staff, an employee for more than 23 years.

Recognized for 35 years of service were William D. Reynolds, dean for the arts and humanities; and Dawn Esther Van Ark, Van Wylen Library.

Honored for 30 years of service were Kenneth L. Aalderink, physical plant; and Laurie Brock, admissions.

Recognized for 25 years of service were Dale F. Austin, career services; and Karen L. Barr, admissions.

Marking 20 years of service were Karen J. Barber-Gibson, modern and classical languages; Ronald J. Evink, physical plant; Tod Gugino, chemistry; Sandra K. Ray, physical plant; Gloria Shay, registrar's office; and E. Louise Shumaker, student development.

Fifteen-year honorees were Garrett M. Knoth, admissions; Christopher Schultz, physical plant; and Sally J. Smith, political science.

Honored for 10 years of service were Ellen T. Awad, student development; Rowene E. Beals, economics, management and accounting; Linda Bos, health services; Kurt D. DeVette, DeWitt Tennis Center; John K. Erskine, music; Louis Gonzales, physical plant; Kevin W. Mendels, computing and information technology; Lori L. Mulder, human resources; Margie A. Wiersma, computing and information technology; Mary J. Wilson, college advancement; and Chad A. Wolters, campus safety.
