Four Hope College men’s golfers have earned Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors for the 2017-18 school year, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced.

Representing the Flying Dutchmen are senior Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian HS), junior Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville), junior Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton), and junior Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake).  

This is Hoeksema’s second All-America Scholar recognition and the first for Gibson, Goble and Kramer.

Hope’s Scholar All-America Golfer

Under the direction of head coach Scott Lokers, Hope is tied for Claremont-Mudd Scripps with the most Scholar All-America honorees in the nation. A total of 37 golfers were recognized.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.

A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
