Hope College’s Claire Hallock has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.
The senior from Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center HS) is honored for the fourth time in her career and the first time this season.
Hallock is honored for her performance against seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
At No. 2 singles, Hallock defeated Vinaya Rao in a three-set tiebreaker, 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).
Hallock is 7-1 in singles play this season and 78-12 overall.
At No. 1 doubles, Hallock and partner Amanda Bandrowski pushed Carnegie Mellon’s Courtney Ollis and Danna Taylor to a tiebreaker before falling, 8-7 (4).
