RCA Scholarships

Tuition assistance for students called to serve in ministry.

Reformed Church in America logoThis scholarship fund was established by the Reformed Church in America (RCA) Classical Board of Benevolence in 1875. Since then, the RCA Benevolence Board has been helping Hope College students pursue their goal of full-time ministry.

Students in their sophomore and juniors years who qualify can apply and be interviewed. Upon the approval of the selection committee, students are given a grant to help fund their undergraduate education at Hope College during their junior or senior year. Financial need is determined by Hope's Office of Financial Aid.

To qualify for this program, you must:

  • Be able to demonstrate financial need to further your education
  • Apply in the spring of your sophomore or junior year so the funds will be available in the fall of your junior or senior year
  • Be a member in good standing of a Christian congregation
  • Be planning to serve some sort of ministry in the RCA or other approved ministry

Applications for undergraduate financial assistance limited to current Hope College students. Applications are accepted during the spring semester only, from early January until early April. The exact date will be posted each January.

A selection committee led by the Center for Ministry Studies and comprised of Hope faculty and staff will meet following the application deadline to review the applications and make arrangements for any needed interviews. If selected, you may be contacted to schedule an interview.
