Facilities and Classrooms
The Department of World Languages & Cultures is housed in the Martha Miller Center
for Global Communication.
Many of our language classes take place in the Martha Miller Center (MMC), and our language houses are designed for students who’d like to be completely immersed in French or Spanish during their free time.

Martha Miller Center for Global Communication
The Martha Miller Center for Global Communication opened in 2005. The two-story, 49,000-square-foot building houses the Department of Communication and the Department of World Languages and Cultures. It also holds the offices of international and multicultural education. Learn more.
The MMC is home to Hope College’s global communication presence, which includes the Department of World Languages and Cultures. Find our faculty and staff on the second floor, as well as many of your language classes.
La Maison Francaise
La Maison Francaise is our French language house on campus, housing six female students who are interested in using French with other like-minded students. Affectionately named after Marguerite Prins, a French professor at Hope, the students chosen to live here pledge to use French in their daily interactions in the common areas of La Maison Francaise.
The Spanish House
The Spanish House is our Spanish language house on campus, with room for five female students interested in practicing their language skills and learning more about the culture that our programs offer.
