Bruce McCombs, professor of art at Hope College, has recently had work included in museums' permanent collections and in group exhibitions.
He has had paintings included in the permanent
collections of the Portland Museum of Art in Oregon and of
the Dennos Museum of Traverse City. He also had work
included in group exhibitions at the Detroit Institute of
Art, Grand Rapids Art Museum, Port Huron Museum, the Art
Center of Battle Creek and the Holland Area Arts Council.
McCombs's work is in the permanent collections of
The Whitney Museum, the Library of Congress, The
Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Cleveland Museum of Art, The
National Collection in Washington, D.C., and more than 80
other museums and public collections.
His work has been exhibited internationally in
London, Berlin, Italy, Japan and Brazil. His prints have
been seen in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis,
New Orleans and other major cities.
McCombs has been a member of the Hope faculty
since 1969. He holds his BFA from the Cleveland Institute
of Art and an MFA from Tulane University.
