The Hope College Chapel Choir and Symphonette will tour during the college's spring break.

The Chapel Choir will perform in New York, Canada, Massachusetts and Ohio on Wednesday-Wednesday, March 13-20. The Symphonette will perform in Michigan, Florida and Georgia on Thursday-Thursday, March 14-21.

The Chapel Choir will perform in Rochester, N.Y., on Wednesday, March 13; in Ottawa, Canada, on Thursday, March 14; in Medfield, Mass., on Saturday, March 16; in Schenectady, N.Y., on Sunday, March 17; in New York, N.Y., on Monday, March 18; and in Brunswick, Ohio, on Wednesday, March 20.

The Symphonette will perform in Flint on Thursday, March 14; in Bradenton, Fla., on Saturday, March 16; in Tampa, Fla., on Sunday, March 17; in Fort Myers, Fla., on Monday, March 18; in Sun City Center, Fla., on Tuesday, March 19; in Treasure Island, Fla., on Wednesday, March 20; and in Atlanta, Ga., on Thursday, March 21.

The Chapel Choir was organized in 1929 and began touring annually in 1953. In addition to touring coast-to- coast in the United States, the choir has made a European tour five times.

The 39 members are selected by audition. The choir is directed by Brad Richmond, director of choral activities and associate professor of music at Hope.

The Symphonette was organized in 1953. The group has toured coast-to-coast in the United States, and has also performed in two provinces in Canada, the British Isles, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

The 41 Symphonette members are selected each year from the larger college symphony orchestra. The Symphonette is directed by Richard Piippo, associate professor of music at Hope.

The Chapel Choir and Symphonette each maintain active local performance schedules as well. Both groups have also made numerous radio and television appearances, including the "Hour of Power" television program from the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif. Both groups are featured in Hope's nationally-broadcast Christmas Vespers program each December.
