Student dance work will be presented on Friday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in Van Andel Plaza, the oval outside the new science center.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The work is "Ballo del Fiore (dance of the flower) and other Dances ofSpring," reconstructed by junior Ginny Trover of Lafayette, Ohio, through anindependent study. The work, a suite of authentic dances from the ItalianRenaissance, was originally choreographed by Fabritio Caroso.
The performance will feature live music presented by the department of musicand authentic costumes. The five dancers will include Trover; sophomoreMichelle Graves of Flushing; freshman Cami Grimwood of Haubstadt, Ind.; juniorJessica Nelson of St. Joseph; and sophomore Krista Stanton of Lansing.
