Academic Improvement and Resilience (AIR)

The AIR program is designed to provide additional support to students on academic probation. We partner with students to create a plan for resiliency, belonging and academic improvement.

The AIR program is led by a team of academic coaches who support students, both in small group and individual settings. Coaches will meet with students weekly, biweekly or monthly depending on the student's needs and probation status.

How We Can Help
  • Practice academic skills and habits
  • Encourage advocacy skills
  • Cultivate a community and sense of belonging through one-on-one meetings, group sessions and ongoing workshops
  • Bridge the gap between student and college resources
Who Can Participate
  • Students on academic probation are required to participate in this program
  • Any other student interested in this program should contact our department
What Can You Expect

A coach will reach out to you to schedule an appointment once you’ve been placed on academic probation. Your initial meeting will focus on connecting you to your coach and learning about your college experiences. We will help you identify your goals, needs and barriers that kept your previous semester from being academically successful. Then, we will create a plan for the upcoming semester that usually includes regularly scheduled meetings (one-on-one or group) and resource referrals.
