Programs

We have designed our programs to give individual attention to all our young learners so they experience success every day.

  • Academic support
  • Reading
  • Transportation (within our service area)

Academic Year Sessions

We start our fall session in early October and end early December. Our spring session begins in early February and ends late April/early May.

  • Students are assigned to attend two days a week, depending on their school
  • CASA is a drop-in program where students can come and go at will during our open hours
  • CASA’s hours:
    • Holland Public Schools: Monday, 4–5:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 3–4:30 p.m.
    • Black River and Vanderbilt: Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30–5 p.m.
    • Corpus Christi and Woodside: Tuesday and Thursday, 4–5:30 p.m.
  • Each student is placed in a classroom of their peers with 10–15 Hope College academic coaches
  • Once enrolled, students are automatically enrolled for both fall and spring

Summer Session

Summer CASA runs for six weeks, beginning in mid-June and ending in late July.

  • Students attend Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–12:45 p.m.
  • Classrooms are intentionally small
  • Certified teachers design a curriculum that accentuates creative teaching and interactive learning
  • We offer frequent field trips and opportunities for experiential learning
