Dining Services’ commmitment to food inspired us to create this series for students and others to learn and grow in their understanding of food. Our goal is to create an atmosphere which allows students to relax, have fun and share their passion for food.

- Impress on a Budget
Join Chef de Partie Angela Matuisak as she teaches us to make the most of our ingredients. Learn recipes, basic skills, presentation, cooking tips and garnishing.
Have you ever wondered how to make kombucha? Do you even know what kombucha is? Chef Ed Mennega will show us how he makes kombucha at home and what you need to make your own.
- Gingerbread Village
Join bakers Lonnie Elswick and Van Skoglund as they teach about the history of gingerbread, us how to bulid a gingerbread house, and tips and trick on how to decorate your one of a kind treat.
- Lonely Hearts Club
Valentine's Day got you down? We've got a cure for that. Join Hope College Catering Chef Steph Van Oss as she cooks up a feast fit for Aphrodite. Menu includes: chicken & dumpling soup, Southern-style pork cutlet with pepper gravy, hashbrown casserole, glazed carrots, sweet nachos and snickers eggrolls.
- Buon Natale
The weather outside is frightful, but our menu is so delightful! Join Production Manager Rick Nelson as prepares a meal sure to keep your warm. Menu includes: Tuscan White Bean Pomodoro, Insalata Misti, Filetto Di Manzo and Dolci Tarte Di Limone.
