Special Programs and Opportunities

In addition to classes, Environmental Studies students participate in an internship, conduct research and may choose to study off campus.

Internships

An internship is a required part of the Environmental Studies program's senior integration experience. Students will participate in a supervised practical experience in a local business, non-profit organization, governmental agency or educational institution.

For additional details contact Dr. Steven Bouma-Prediger, or connect with the Boerigter Center for Calling and Career about internship opportunities.

Individual Research

Students pursuing an Environmental Studies minor will pursue an individual research project on a problem or issue of their choosing. For additional details contact Dr. Steven Bouma-Prediger.

Off-Campus Study

Environmental Studies students are invited to study off campus as part of their degree program. The minor's flagship off-campus program, REL 365: Ecological Theology and Ethics, meets a degree requirement.
