Anchored Tuition Details
Anchored Tuition is a commitment that the full-time tuition rate you start with at Hope College is the full-time tuition rate you end with (anchored) based upon the cohort term you are assigned when you start. Only full-time tuition is anchored. All part-time tuition rates (less than 12 credits) are adjusted annually and are not included in Anchored Tuition.
A cohort is a group of traditional first-time degree-seeking students (either incoming freshmen or transfer students for fall/spring semesters) who begin at Hope College at the same time. This cohort of students would have their full-time tuition anchored at the rate assigned for that academic year.
Students who have taken courses at Hope College via dual enrollment or other part-time means are not assigned a cohort term. The student’s full-time tuition will not become anchored until they enroll on a full-time degree-seeking basis.
Degree-seeking students who leave Hope College and return will retain their original cohort term. A student has 10 years from their original cohort term to complete their degree with their full-time tuition anchored at their original rate.
Students who graduate and return for another degree will retain their original cohort term. A student has 10 years from their original cohort term to complete their additional degree with their full-time tuition anchored at their original rate.
Eligibility for aid is reassessed on a year-to-year basis. Need-based financial aid awards can fluctuate. Merit aid is capped at eight semesters.
