Hope Rep is a professional company located on the campus of Hope College, in Holland, Michigan.

The company employs both non-equity and equity performers, working under the AEA LOA/Lort D backed contract. Holland is on the west side of the state on the shore of Lake Michigan, about 2.5 hours northeast of Chicago.

Available Positions

Performance/Stage Management

AEA Acting Company
Hope Rep runs on an LOA/LORT D backed Equity contract and employs between 5–12 AEA actors and stage managers. Current weekly pay is currently $629.50 weekly for actors and $772 for stage managers working for Hope Rep.

Non AEA Company
Hope Rep employs 10–12 non-AEA acting company members. Pay range for non-AEA company members is $200–400 weekly based on experience, casting and work assignments.

Non-AEA company members receive EMC points, free housing, and possible travel stipend depending on location. Non-AEA company members also receive discounted meals at Hope College’s dining hall.

Acting/Stage Management Intern Company
Hope Rep employs 8–10 non-AEA acting interns and 3–5 stage management interns. Pay and accommodations for all for all Interns is as follows:

  • $1,500 stipend
  • Free housing
  • 6 free meals a week at Hope College’s dining hall
  • 3 free Hope College credits
Production Staff

Shop Head ($2,500–5,000)
Hope Rep Is looking shop heads in the Following Departments:

  • ATD
  • Paint Charge
  • Props Head
  • Sound/Media

Free housing and discounted meals provided. Possible travel stipend depending on location.

Assistant Shop Head/Manager or Specialized Skill Positions ($1,700–3,000)
Examples of these positions are:

  • Head carpenter
  • Wardrobe supervisor
  • Head electrician
  • Props artisan
  • Assistant charge artist
  • Sound engineer

Free housing and discounted meals provided. Possible travel stipend depending on location. Potential design or assistant design “add-ons” for those interested.

Production Interns
Hope Rep employs interns in the following departments:

  • Lighting
  • Costumes
  • Scenic
  • Paints
  • Sound/media
  • Props

Accommodations for all for all interns is as follows:

Arts Administration and Education

Senior Leadership Positions Available ($6,000–8,000)

  • Costume shop manager

Staff Positions Available ($4,000–6,000)

Management Positions Available ($2,000–4,000)

  • Lead teacher
  • Front-of-house manager

Arts Administration & Arts Education Interns
Hope Rep employs interns in the following areas:

  • Arts admin/Front-of-house
  • Marketing/Social media
  • Arts education

Audition Requirements

To audition for the 2024 Summer Season please submit a video, headshot and resume to hsrtauditions@hope.edu by February 29.

Video should include:

  • Two contrasting monologues
  • 32 Bars of song

Full audition should be no longer than three minutes.
