FALL BREAK

Hope residential communities are open during fall recess. For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completing the Fall Break Sign-up form if you will be sleeping on campus during fall recess. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.   

Phelps Dining will be open during fall recess. Visit the Dining Services website for updated hours and information.

Fall Break Sign-Up 

THANKSGIVING BREAK

Hope residential communities are open during Thanksgiving recess!  For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completeing the Thanksgiving Break sign-up form if you will be sleeping on campus during Thanksgiving break. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.

Hope College meal plans will not be in effect during Thanksgiving break. The dining halls and the Kletz will be closed starting Thursday, November 23, until dinner on Sunday, November 26. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements for food during this time. There will be a Meijer shuttle run from 6–8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21 (meet at DeWitt Flag pole).

Thanksgiving Break Sign-Up 

SEMESTER (CHRISTMAS) BREAK

Hope residential communities close for semester (Christmas) break starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023. All residents are expected to be out of their respective living unit by this time, unless they have received approval from Residence Life. To request approval, fill out the stay late/early arrival form.

A late stay request is any time between Friday, December 15, and Sunday, December 31. An early arrival request is from Monday, January 1, through Friday, January 5.

• All late stay requests need to be submitted by: Wednesday, December 13, at noon
• All early arrival request need to be submitted by: Wednesday, January 3, at noon

If your request is not submitted by this time, it could be denied or assigned a late fee of $50. No requests will be processed during the campus shutdown between Friday, December 22, and Tuesday, January 2.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SUBMIT AN REMAIN LATE REQUEST

• Access the late stay/early arrival form
• Sign in with your 1Hope username and password
• Click on “Apps and Forms” on the left of the screen
• Select “Late Stay Request” or “Early Arrival Request”
• Fill out the form indicating the days that you will be staying on campus and submit
• You will receive an email indicating that your request has been submitted
• Your request will be reviewed by the Housing Office, and you will get an email indicating whether your request has been approved or denied

WINTER BREAK

Hope residential communities are open during winter recess. For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completing the Winter Break sign-up form if you will be sleeping on campus during winter break. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.

SPRING BREAK 

Hope residential communities are open during spring break. For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completing the Spring Break sign-up form if you will be sleeping on campus during spring break. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.

Hope College meal plans will not be in effect during spring break. The dining halls and the Kletz will be closed starting Friday, March 8, until dinner Sunday, March 17. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements for food during this time. There will be a Meijer shuttle run from 6–8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 (meet at DeWitt Flag pole).

Spring Break Sign-Up 

EASTER BREAK

Hope residential communities are open during Easter break. For emergency purposes we ask that you register by completing the Easter Break sign-up form if you will be sleeping on campus during Easter break. You will get a confirmation of your response, but no additional approval communication is needed.

Hope College meal plans will not be in effect during easter break. The dining halls and the Kletz will be closed starting Friday, April 7, until dinner Monday, April 10. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements for food during this time. There will be a Meijer shuttle run from 6–8 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 (meet at DeWitt Flag pole).
