Career Assessments

The Career Development Center offers three different assessments to help you better understand your strengths, preferences and interests.

To take these assessments, please email assessments@hope.edu.

Taking the StrengthsQuest assessment (SQ) will offer insight into your top five personal strengths. Hope College uses SQ in many places throughout campus, from career services to residence life. Building an understanding of your top five strengths can assist in your overall academic achievement and your leadership development, and can impact your career choices.

The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) objectively measures your interests, both professional and personal. Completing the SII and thoroughly reviewing the results with a career professional can help identify relevant majors and occupations that you may not have considered before.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) can help students identify, understand and apply their personal preferences to their career decisions. MBTI measures how people take in information, where they focus their attention, how they make decisions and how people adapt to situations.

Each assessment is completed online and will require a code or password. Assessments are $10 each. Unless otherwise specified, your student account will be charged when you receive the assessment code or password.

If you would like additional information about these assessments, or for assistance in determining which is best for you, please call our office to make an appointment.
